So, I have reacquainted myself to all of my gear.  I am now shooting with the Olympus OM-D1 E-M1 Mark II.  Wow, what speed at 60fps.  It did require a few other tweaks to my gear and those are complete.  The last update was to move up to a Lowepro Protactic 350 aw camera backpack.  It carries all of my gear including the tripod and numerous accessories in the pouches.

I began shooting last month and will begin to post new photos for you to enjoy!!

Modern DSLR cameras are loaded with functions and features that we may only really understand by spending time with the user manual. But, the user manual by itself will not teach you everything.  Would you hire someone with a degree and no experience or an person with experience by no degree?  Or best yet perhaps is an individual with both a degree and experience.  I like the last option in almost all cases. Which means take the time to work through the manual not just reading the words, but practicing what you read.

If you are legal age, you may find it fun to have a nice bottle of wine handy to enjoy while you read the user manual and and try out all of the new and exciting features of your DSLR.

]]> [email protected] (Jacob's Retreat Images) https://jacobsretreatimages.com/blog/2017/4/what-manual Sun, 16 Apr 2017 18:37:42 GMT More Than a Shutter Click! https://jacobsretreatimages.com/blog/2017/2/more-than-a-shutter-click I began my photography passion focused on see it, click it and move on to find the next click.  I was missing so much life detail in the rush to post production.  I learned from meditation that I needed to slow myself down, find the moment, and be willing and able to stay in the moment.  An early example of the 'moment" was time that I spent at a car show.  Not much of a big fan of cars and car shows I found myself spending up to an hour looking at all of the fine details of one car!!  I found details that I never imagined by being able to stay in that moment.
